Obama's Incoherent Case for War

Mona Charen argues that President Obama has being hypocritical about what he had once about the war in Iraq being dumb with what is happening in Libya. She mentions how now the President can order American Forces into action without the US Congress. Even though President Obama once said he opposed dumb wars like the one in Iraq. He believed that Saddam didn't pose an "inminent or direct threat to the United States" even though he had he attacked his neighbors: Iran, Kuwait, and Israel. On the other hand Qaddafi has not gone past his borders and Obama is going for war. Obama like everyone else knew that Saddam had chemical and biological weapons and still didn't see the point in that war yet in Qaddafi's case there is no sign or threat of any of this. So ironically he is supporting something even dumber than what he thought about the war in Iraq. It seems that for President Obama the idea of image making is more important than policymaking. I agree with Mona Charen because it is clear how hypocritical he is being. Saddam was a much bigger and greater threat than Qaddafi, yet he disagreed with the war then. Click here to view article.
